서울대 학생식당!

SNU Cafeteria! Sorry for the delay! Was busy with preparing presentation and role play 😂
There are a total of 18 cafeteria around SNU, BUT since it is summer and students are having their summer school holiday...... So only some cafeteria are open during this period of time. Hence, LEI students always goes to block 113 cafeteria for lunch (it is also the nearest).

There is a shelf placed at the entrance of the cafeteria which display their weekly menu and the day's dishes where you can see and choose for yourself.
Weekly Menu can be found online or at each of the different Cafeteria itself

Each cafeteria will always have at least 2 different sets for you to choose. However, if 1 set is sold out they will remove it from the shelf. So if you check online and saw what you want to eat, go early before it gets sold out!

After choosing what you want to eat, proceed to the counter or machine to buy the coupon.
Coupon will be given and you have to scan it before collecting your food
Go to the correct counter to collect your food, just follow what set you order. Example you choose set B,then go to counter B.

Take your utensil first!
Then proceed to scan your coupon and put it into the box (Sorry didn't manage to take the box)
Collect your food, you can choose what you want to take

Waiting for the soup to be ready
Water are free flow and self service
Place cups at one place unless it is too high!
One thing to take note, is that when you finish eating and there are leftover food, ensure that you put all the leftover into ONE bowl/plate! Then put your spoon and chopstick into the correct bin which is labeled at the side.

Place your finished tray onto the conveyor belt
Put your used utensil into the correct bin (Chopstick/ Spoon)

Lesson started!

Yesterday was the first day of class and so from dormitory I took bus 5516 which is across the road towards SNU. It is only 4 stops away which took less than 15 mins to reach school. Reach school about 8.30am and there were alot of students already!

LEI Building
Checked for which class am I in from the notice board, where you can see all the students name, country, level and classroom. And I found out that there were only 3 students from Singapore! Which means is my friend (Linda), me and and guy who is in level 5!! The rest of the students were made out of Chinese, Vietnam and others.

However, most of the students started from level 1, so if you are taking the placement test and being placed in level 2 and above, don't be surprise if you see that your classmates already knew each other. For my class, I am in level 2 class 8 with 12 students and only 4 are new to SNU. You can get your books at the LEI office. The textbook and workbook for each level include book A (1st half - mid term test) and book B (2nd half - final test ).

Office to buy textbooks
First lesson is for the teacher to get to know you and giving out important information which includes exams, homework and assignments will be given to you in a schedule form. Then proper lesson starts, each chapter there are 4 grammar and it will be split into 2 days. So for each lesson, you will learn 2 grammar and there is homework for each grammar, to be handed-in the day after end of each chapter.

The textbook is structured in a very nice with good flow, like vocabulary, grammar 1, speaking 1, grammar 2, speaking 2, listening, reading and writing. Both textbook and workbook are being used simultaneously and there is alot of speaking practice too.

Lesson starts from 9am to 1pm for morning class and 1.30pm to 5.20pm, with breaks of 10 mins and 20 mins after every 50 mins of lesson. And the best thing is that the teacher give break and end class on time!!! Which it never happen before in Singapore ~.~

2nd day was pretty much the same as lesson continue from yesterday. And for level 2 above, there is a buddy system. BUT due to school holiday currently, there were limited volunteer available. Hence, each class only have 2 buddy attached to 2 students. Yea, so I suggest that you find your own language exchange outside. Maybe from websites like  mylanguageexchange  or  easylanguageexchange.

1 more thing that you have to know is that for each class there is more than 1 teacher teaching you. For my class, we have 3 teacher take turn to teach us. like for Monday is Ms Yoon, Tuesday and Thursday is Ms Kim and Wednesday and Friday is Ms Lee.

Yap! That's all for the first 2 day of lesson so far so good. Hopefully it's gonna be smooth all the way~

When for lunch at SNU Student Cafeteria after class. Will blog about the cafeteria soon :)
